Finding your way

Berlin is very spread out: the historic centre (Mitte) lines the Spree and Museum Island, other districts are several kilometres away. In the centre, a double row of cobblestones in the ground marks the line of the Wall in places.

Getting around

BVG runs the U-Bahn, trams and buses; Deutsche Bahn runs the S-Bahn. The network is divided into zones A, B and C. Tickets: bvg.de.

Getting there

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is linked to the centre by train. Berlin Hauptbahnhof is the central station.

Emergencies

European emergency number: 112.
